WINNIPEG
(July 24, 2024) – Action begins Saturday for Team Canada as the International Racquetball Federation World Championships get underway. The event, hosted in San Antonio, USA, from August 23 to 31, 2024, will see participation from nineteen nations.

Canada is fielding a strong team, with athletes competing in singles, doubles, and team events.

The women’s team features Frédérique Lambert (Montréal), Juliette Parent (Saint-Jacques), Christine Keay (New Westminster), and Danielle Ramsay (Saskatoon).

Representing the men’s team are Samuel Murray (Baie-Comeau), Coby Iwaasa (Lethbridge), Kurtis Cullen (Brandon), and Trevor Webb (Kitchener).

The team is supported by Head Coach Michel Gagnon (Longueuil), Assistant Coaches Tim Landeryou (Saskatoon) and Rino Langelier (Montréal), Therapist Amy Barrette (Baie-Comeau), and Team Leader Jen Saunders (Winnipeg).

The tournament’s first three days, from August 24 to 26, will feature a preliminary round for singles and doubles. Athletes’ performances during this round will determine their seeding for the elimination bracket, which kicks off on August 27. Finals for the singles and doubles events are scheduled for August 29. The team competitions for both men and women begin on August 29, with the finals set for August 31.

Additionally, the singles event serves as a qualifier for the 2025 Chengdu World Games.
